Born and raised in Ghana and the UK respectively, I encompass my lived experiences of both cultures, my identity as a dark skinned black African woman and my journey with mental health in my art with the hope of bringing further awareness to social issues and injustices and helping to encourage more open conversations about mental health.
I’ve always wanted a big sister growing up, one I could talk to about anything from the stars and flowers to why my skin colour angers people so much. Well, ‘Sincerely Denyze X’ is that big sister for me. It’s both an outlet and a way of self therapizing, but also the big sister. I never had. I hope Sincerely Denyze can be that big sibling to everyone, regardless of whether you already have a big sibling.
I created this website to further connect with you guys. I’ll be resharing poems from Sincerely Denyze X on Instagram as well as new content such as going into further details on individual poems, writing tips, mental health tips to name a few.
Even more exciting!! I’ll soon have merch and products which can be bought from the site or Instagram… can’t reveal anything else yet but they’re just a little something something to make getting through each day a bit easier for you 😉
